SOCAP 365 & IMPACT HUB AUSTIN PRESENT

Through thought leadership panel discussions, inclusive dialogues, and community-building events, SOCAP 365 and Impact Hub Austin will convene impact investors, social entrepreneurs, conscious corporations, philanthropists, government agencies, and innovators from every sector through our 2018 event series. THE NEW AMERICAN DREAM

The New American Dream: Intergenerational Wealth for All

For generations, people from all backgrounds have come to this country with a dream of opportunity, access, resources and ultimately ownership. But the American Dream is a myth for many who are systematically excluded from systems of wealth building and ownership, and lack economic and political power. The racial wealth gap is widening, with predictions that by 2020 the median white household will own 86 times more wealth than its black counterpart, and 68 times more wealth than its Latino one. [1] Catalyzing wealth creation for communities of color must be a national imperative, requiring investment, representation, amplification and a reckoning of where power sits in American society. Hear from Austin leaders taking a variety of approaches to empower and invest in historically marginalized communities, to realize the dream of prosperity for all.
